Kaprice Maxwell’s journey as an artist is a powerful testament to talent, resilience, and self-discovery. Born and raised in Milwaukee, she was surrounded by music from an early age, even as the only musician in her family. Leading church choirs at just seven years old and participating in orchestra, choir, dance, and sports helped shape her creative drive.
Influenced by artists like Missy Elliott, Anita Baker, Aretha Franklin, and Chris Brown, Kaprice refined her craft at Milwaukee High School of the Arts. She became a skilled vocalist and multi-instrumentalist, mastering piano, bass, guitar, and viola. Her ability to write, arrange, and perform her own music sets her apart.
Her path hasn’t been without challenges. From writer’s block to the pressures of live performance, Kaprice has learned to stay grounded through consistency, self-love, and guidance from mentors. Her original song “Learn to Love Me” earned her the NAACP ACT-SO Award and recognition from DownBeat magazine.
Today, she’s a vital presence in Milwaukee’s arts scene, performing, composing, and serving as a resident artist at Bar Central. Kaprice continues to grow creatively, exploring acting while remaining committed to inspiring others through authenticity and love.
